WHO WE ARE
Calibre Cabling Services Ltd
Welcome to Calibre Cabling Services. We are a small family run business based in Cumnor, Nr Oxford.
The Company was set up in June 2017 by Paul and his son Phil Middlecoat to provide structured cabling solutions to homes and businesses across Oxfordshire.
Background & Experience
Paul worked for British Telecom for 15 years where he specialised in the Business telephone side of things. He left BT to join a data cabling company and has been working in that field ever since.
Paul has vast experience of fibre optics cabling, both single and multimode using fusion splicing and Fluxe DX8000 to give PDF test results.
Phil spent the first few years of his working life as a chef but joined Paul in the structured cabling world about 15 years ago when they both worked for DJM Telecom. He has gained a wealth of experience and knowledge in that time.
The opportunity arose in 2017 to set up their own business and Calibre Cabling Services Ltd was born.
They have worked hard, building on their good reputation from their days at DJM Telecom and have built up a good, solid customer base with much repeat business, which is testament to the great service they provide.
Nothing is too much trouble, and they will always go the extra mile to ensure their customers are satisfied.
Paul’s wife Julie joined the company in 2018 to help with the day today running of the operations.
In January 2024 Joe joined us as a trainee data engineer and is going from strength to strength under Phil & Paul’s watchful eye.
Calibre also has the ability to draw on other data engineersas and when needed.

Meet the team
PHIL MIDDLECOATE
Director
Before starting Calibre Cabling Services, Phil gained his experience through an apprenticeship with DJM Telecom, which he began in 2008. In the past 10 years he has gained an in depth knowledge of the data cabling industry.
PAUL MIDDLECOATE
Managing Director
Paul started his career in telecommunications with British Telecom back in 1980. After 15 years, he moved on to a Network Cabling Company, and 3 years later he joined DJM Telecom. He enjoyed working with them for more than 18 years, gaining extensive knowledge and experience in data and fibre optic cabling systems. He then set up Calibre Cabling Services in 2017 with his son Phil.
SIMON MULFORD
Senior Engineer
Simon joined his family’s business, DJM Telecom, in 2001. He has more than 16 years’ experience of data and fibre optic cabling systems and uses this working alongside Paul & Phil at Calibre.
